Day 8: Testimony

"I know that my Redeemer lives! What comfort this sweet sentence gives!"

Read: D&C 76:1-24

The Journey:

• Do you have a written copy of your testimony of Christ--your Brother, your Friend, your Savior?
• Write out what you believe. Write your gratitude to Him. Write an experience that has strengthened your testimony of Him.
• Share your testimony.

"The basis of a true testimony starts with a belief in Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. In the Doctrine and Covenants it says, 'Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.' (D&C 88:63) To know the Father and the Son, we have journals of ancient prophets, the scriptures, that we can study. Then in prayer we ask our Heavenly Father if it's true."

Well, this concludes the Walk With Christ of 2014.

I hope that you've liked it as much as I have and you have come to a better understanding and appreciation and love for our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and I hope you've felt the Holy Ghost as you've participated.

I've loved doing this right before conference and I hope we can all continue to build upon our testimonies this weekend and continue learning this lovely thing called The Gospel:)

Day 7: Remember

"I urge you to find ways to recognize and remember God's kindness. You will be blessed as you remember what the Lord has done." -President Henry B. Eyring

Read: The story of Joshua crossing the river Jordan: Joshua 3 & 4

The Journey:

• Gather twelve stones. Label each stone with a blessing you have recognized in your journey toward Christ.
• Share these blessings with your family.
• Write down how He has strengthened, enlightened, or comforted you.

"And after they had been received unto baptism, and were wrought upon and cleansed by the power of the Holy Ghost, they were numbered among the people of the church of Christ; and their names were taken, that they might be remembered and nourished by the good word of God, to keep them in the right way, to keep them continually watchful unto the prayer, relying alone upon the merits of Christ, who was the author and the finisher of their faith."

"How do I keep my covenant to always remember the Savior? When we partake of the sacrament, we promise to remember the Savior always. This means that we constantly look to His example and teachings to guide the choices we make. We put Him first in our lives and seek to know Him and follow His will. When we face trials, we look to Him for comfort and strength, Heavenly Father has promised that if we keep this covenant, we will always have His Spirit to be with us."

Walk With Christ 2014: Day 6

Day 6: Stand

"...I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand..."

Read: Luke 22:32, Ether 12:4

Consider: Standing as a witness of Christ not only strengthens you, it strengthens those around you.

The Journey:

• When you see the battle against sin raging, where do you see yourself in the fight?
• In your role as a friend, a son, a daughter, in your church calling, do you give some, or do you give all?
• Find a way to STRENGTHEN someone today.

"Standing obedient and strong on the doctrine of our God, we stand in holy places, for His doctrine is sacred and will not change in the social and political winds of our day. I declare, as did the Apostle Paul, 'Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, [behave] like men, [and] be strong."

Walk With Christ 2014: Day 5

Day 5: Change

"Come unto Jesus; He'll ever heed you. Though in the darkness you've gone astray. His love will find you and gently lead you from darkest night into day."

Read: Luke 17:11-19

Consider: If we turn to the Savior and ask for help, we too can be healed and cleansed.

The Journey:

• Identify a change that you would like to make in your own life. It could be something amiss in your family, or an individual weakness.
• Write down a plan that will enable you to make that change.
• Approach the Lord in prayer and ask for His help.

Walk With Christ 2014: Day 4

Day 4: Follow

"...whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." -D&C 1:38

Read: Mosiah 2 and focus on verses 5-6, 1 Peter 2:21

The Journey:

• What counsel do you remember from last General Conference? Print out your favorite talk(s).
• Write down the counsel given and place it somewhere that you will see it often. How will following this counsel strengthen your testimony of Jesus Christ?
• How will you apply that counsel to your life today?

Day 4: Seek

"I'll seek the Lord early while in my youth, and He will help me to know the truth..."

Read: John 20:1-18, Luke 11:9

Consider: Christ's question to Mary, "Whom seekest thou?"

The Journey:

• Examine your life. What is your greatest need?
• Set aside some time today to seek the Lord.
• Find in Christ the answers you long for. Dare to reach a new level of understanding.

Walk With Christ 2014: Day 3

Day 3: Faith

"...All things are possible to him that believeth..."

Read: Mark 9:17-27

Consider: The father's statement, "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Are there areas you wish for stronger faith?

The Journey:

• Take time to identify and write down an area in which you feel challenged.
• Take this challenge to the Lord. Plead your case in prayer. Ask for greater faith, then be still and listen to the promptings that will come.

Walk With Christ 2014: Day 2

Day 2: Pray

Pray, He is there. Speak, He is listening.

Read: Moroni 7:26

The Journey:

• Ponder the five Characteristics of prayer given in this verse. Choose one step that you will focus on.
• As you kneel and pray tonight, thank Heavenly Father for His Son, Jesus Christ. Share with Him the reasons why you are grateful for the Savior. Let Him know what your knowledge of Christ means to you.
• Pray at least twice today.

"Many prayers are spoken while we are one our knees. But siletn prayers of the heart also reach to heaven. We sing, 'Prayer is the soul's sincere desire, uttered or unexpressed.' Sincere prayers come from the heart and access to our Creator is limitless. He is reachable at any time and any place."

Day 2: Listen

Hearken unto the voice of the Good Shepherd.

Read: John 10:1-18

Question: Do you know His voice? How often do you come when you are called?

The Journey:

• Think about how you have learned to recognize the voice of the Shepherd. Make a list of the moments when you have heard that voice and heeded the call.
• Find one way to "hear" His voice today.

"How are prayers answered? Often we pray for help with a significant matter, Heavenly Father will give us gentle promptings that require us to think, exercise faith, work, at times struggle, then act. It is a step-by-step process that enables us to discern inspired answers."

Walk With Christ 2014: Day 1

Day 1: Come

If you want to know who Christ is, "Come and See"

Read: Mark 1: 16-18 and John 1:38-39

Consider: The fishermen left their nets to follow the Savior

The Journey:

• Determine what fils your nets. Are everyday challenges (schoolwork, fears, busy schedule, anger) holding you back from developing a relationship with Christ?
• Today, try to listen for the Savior's quiet invitation to "Come follow me."

hmm. well.

I really love reading other peoples blogs.

They have the Most Inspirational things on them,

that lift you up when your down.

People always know what to blog about when I need it.

Everyone out there is

Psychic.

Literally.

I feel terrible for thoughts I have thought,

words I have said,

people I have hurt,

but mostly,

things I never did to help.

I'm not trying to complain,

Just thinking out loud.

I really love the Gospel and all it has done for me.

I have been trying to get closer to my Father in Heaven.

I have been trying to pray more sincerely,

I pray for people I envy,

people that bug me out of my mind,

people I love,

even people I have never met.

I am full of some guilt and regret.

People I have envied,

[and still envy at times]

I took that they had the most perfect life.

They got every boy that came their way,

had all of the friends I wished I had,

took the attention of everyone when they walk into a room,

Everything.

Lately,

I've come to realize,

How single-minded I was.

I just wanted to become them,

I don't know what they are going through.

No one is perfect.

I am DEFINITELY NOT perfect.

THEY are NOT perfect.

The only person to ever walk this earth that is perfect,

is my beloved Savior and Redeemer,

Jesus Christ.

He died for me.

He made it possible for me to return to him.

"Jesus said love everyone"

So what am I doing right now?

Disobeying.

It is hard to comprehend the perfect example our Savior really was for us.

It was possible for him.

Although I'm not perfect,

I have a goal.

To be as good of a Daughter of God as I can be,

while I am on this earth.

My goal is to be perfect one day.

I want to live in the Celestial Kingdom with my Father.

I want to make my Creator proud.

I will do that by living up to my fullest potential while I am on this earth.

Oh ya,

I LOVE my Patriarchal Blessing.

It has done wonders in my life.

On my whiteboard in my room,

I have written a lot of main points in it to help through my every day life.

My favorite part is:

"Your Father in heaven sees you, His daughter, on a pathway to perfection."

I read that everyday.

It gives me hope and a purpose in my life.

I love Him.

And I know He loves me.

I will always strive to do better,

But I know that if I stumble along the way,

He will always be there to catch me when I fall,

Be my friend when I don't have any,

and most important to me,

Forgive me.
