"We invite you young women to participate in making a personal covenant of Virtue and Modesty with the Lord tonight. We hope that you will ponder and pray this afternoon about the testimonies given in class and teachings shared today. We encourage you to covenant with the Lord through personal prayer. As a symbol of "Arise and Shine Forth" We have provided Sky lanterns to be lit and sent Heavenward at 6pm this evening from each young woman's personal home. There would be no greater joy, as a youth leader or parent, than to see the night sky fade as each of you brighten the world, through this new or renewed promise."

Modesty

"Modesty is often talked of in terms of dress and apperance, but modesty encompasses much more than the outward appearance. It is a condition of the heart. It is an outward manifestation of an inner knowledge adn commitment. It is an expressiong that we understand our identity as daughters of God. It is an expression that we know what He expects us to do. It is a declaration of out covenant keeping. A question in the For the Strength of Youth bookelt really is the question each of us must consider: 'Am I living the way the Lord wants me to live?' When we truly know that we are daughters of God and have an understanding of our diving nature, it will be reflected in our countenance, our appearance, and our actions." ~ Elaine Dalton

Today in young womens,

We had such an amazing lesson.

The young mens President came and taught us a lesson.

He focused on Virtue.

He showed us a lot of videos and I almost cried--due to recent events.

He did an object lesson dealing with a cake.

It was a very beautiful cake and we all wanted to eat it.

To the young men, the cake is Us as Young Women.

He then proceeded to ask if anyone wanted a piece of cake.

One girls raised her hand and went to the front of the classroom.

Bro. Yeates continued to put a plastic glove on.

He dug his hand into the cake and smooshed it on a plate.

We were all surprised that he would treat such a pretty cake like that.

Then he cut a nice piece of cake out, making sure it looked perfect,

and set it on another plate.

"The young men only see the outward appearance," he explained,

"when you show the young men the inside of you,

which way would you like to present yourself?

The smooshed cake that is lacking virtue and control,

or the neatly laid out cake, showing the gospel in all that you do?"

All of us of course wanted to show ourselves neatly.

He talked about being respectful and the ture meaning of modesty.

Not only is it your dress and appearnce,

but your behaivor. They way you speak,

what you say,

What you do,

Everything.

He also brought up PDA.

Would you consider PDA an unmodest thing to do?

Yes, It is actually very unmodest.

It was such a good lesson.

In the last five minutes,

the Young men joined us.

Then our Bishop spoke to us about what the young men learned.

They had learned how to treat a young women like a Queen.

Oh yes, and to make a personal Covenant of Virtue and Modesty with the Lord,
Brother Yeates gave each Young Women a floating Lantern.
And we are gonna let them go tonight at 6pm.

Recently I've Been Thinking

If everyday could be a Friday,

Man would life be fun.

No homework,

No school,

Just you and whatever you want to do.

I have also decided that boys are just dumb.

They are too chickent to ask girls on dates.

Here are a lot of girls with so much potential for being fun,

yet you deny them the opportunity to show you who they really are.

Stupid boys.

Ask Girls on dates.

And Valentines Day is going to suck again this year.

I hate Single's Awareness day.

I have been single and will stay single probably for a while.

But no,

When you go to school you are reminded how "obscure" you are.

You see all of these lovey-dovey couples everywhere.

They get each other presents,

Hold each other's hands,

Kiss occassionally,

All that Jazz.

Awkward.

But the rest of us are just too cool to have boyfriends/girlfriends right now.

Yep.

That's the truth.

The decisions we make in life not only affect you,

but affect those around you.

When making a life changing decision,

make sure you take in account EVERYONE in your life.

Not just the ones in the immediate decision.

Think of all of the gospel standards,

Think of your value to God,

Think of it ALL.

Remember that it is your life.

Death sorta came up.

Actually, just vows that said you wouldn't kill each other,

or thier children.

Ya, weird huh?

So while Amand, Tressa, and me were walking across campus,

We were talking about different ways to kill people:):)

Hehe.

And most of them were ways to kill guys.

Then Tressa said the funniest quote!!!!!!!!!

Oh dear me.......

That's the kind of jokes you hear if you are her and you grew up with only older brothers.....

She is a good child though:)

Memories...

Today I decided to look back through old pictures.

Man, I LOVED to tak pictures.

I totally realized that I don't take enough pictures nowadays.

So take pictures cause in the future you will LOVE yourself for taking them:)

Oh yes,

So my adventures of yesterday...

My original plan was to take my normal 4:40 bus home,

So I could make it to Tanner and Sam's wrestling match.

But I was trying to be nice..

(Plus I was talking to Cameron)

And I waited for Kelton because we ride the same bus.

But you see,

In order to get from UCAS to the bus stop you need about 10ish minutes.

Well, We didn't end up leaving UCAS till about 4:30.

We were walking so fast!!

And right as we were almost to our bus stop,

The dear 811 bus was pulling away......

So, we ran and hopped on the 830 to catch the 850 later!

[And we grabbed all these pamphlet thingys telling the bus schedule]

We missed the 850,

but the next thing we know another 811 is pulling up!!

Huzzah!

We hopped on and we started playing Truth or Dare?

{Such an odd game to play....}

And we didn't end up getting to my bus stop till 5:45ish instead of the usual 5:10ish.

So I ran to my car in the rain and I sped over to the high school.

Sadly, I missed seeing Tanner wrestle:(

But Sabrina, Erik, and Breanne were there!!

So we finished watching JV,

When Erin and Maddie showed up!!

And Taylie too!!

It was just a party!

Then we all went over to JCW's and ate delicious Ice Cream as it was cold outside.

Then we came back and Watched Sam wrestle!!

Sadly.........he got pinned in 15 seconds:(:(:(:(

He was SO mad.....

But it was some adventure!!!

Thanks guys!!

I miss AF a ton.....

But thanks for still being nice to be ol' jerk like me:)

She's Home!!

Shelby is FINALLY home!!:)



Get Worse for the Better.

Well,

Shelby is in the Hospital.

She has been in there since Friday Morning....

She almost died..... :S

A normal woman's blood level should be at 30,

well hers was down to a 9.26

They were surprised she was still able to walk.

They were also shocked that she was still alive!

She went through 5 bags of blood (O Positive)

and She has been in the ICU ever since.

She is doing SO much better though!!

I just miss her, and so does my dog Sadie,

She just roams around the house and is lonely because we have all been gone this weekend.

Oh yes,

I LOVE my madre!!

She has been staying with Shelby from 8 AM to 10:30 PM EVERY night since Friday.

She is missed around the house,

But she is so loving!!!

I love her to death:):)

 

Oh yes,

One more thing.

My Grandparents left on their mission today:)

They are going to Serve in Amsterdam!!

I think I've already told you this, but I love them!!!

 

Can I also say, I know that Shelby is supposed to live.

If she was to die, she would've,

But she is one of the most spiritual people I know.

She just started to work on her mission papers this past week

And I know that the Lord is looking out for her.

Imagine what would've happened if this happened on her Mission?

I am SO grateful to know that We have a Loving Father in Heaven who watches over us,

He protects us,

Loves us,

And is always there when we need him:)

 

Physics

Oh Physics test!

Haha, so I had a Physics test today and guess what?

I passed it by only missing one!

Well,

The one that I missed was,

What is Newton's Second Law of Motion?

Well, I had absolutely NO idea!

So I answered:

I don't know. I forgot to write it down on my quarter sheet of notes so therefore I know I am going to miss this question. Moral of the story: write EVERYTHING down from the reveiw.

Haha, good answer right?

Teenage Moment
